Purpose and Goals

Purpose:

The purpose of our plant production and technologies department is to conduct research on adaptation of new species and varieties suitable for ecology, plant patterns, planting systems, agricultural techniques, soil preparation, fertilization, rotation, development of varieties resistant to adverse conditions such as disease-pests-drought-salinity, agricultural biotechnology application and research areas and adding value to products obtained from production and research with academic level projects prepared to contribute to the solution of problems related to different ecologies of our region in particular and our country in general, to train personnel equipped with contemporary knowledge, experienced, equipped with research and problem-solving skills, and capable of leading their environment for the solution of plant protection problems of the country, especially the region with a wide range of plant production, to conduct research equipped with new techniques for the plant production problems of the country and the region and to disseminate the findings obtained from these to the producer, to train personnel who will contribute to the solution of these problems. In addition to these, to conduct basic studies at the international level. In this context, to be a department that conducts research with projects at national and international levels, participates in advanced technology development projects in education and training, provides its trained staff with problem-solving skills with contemporary methods, and trains its graduates as staff who can practice their professions both domestically and internationally. As a result, to gain the identity of an institution that can conduct research and provide training at national and international levels, produce solutions with the staff it trains, and contribute to the national economy, and to plan and implement education and training programs that will provide the knowledge and equipment to compete on national and international platforms in the field of plant production, the skills to follow new developments and implement them, the ability to solve and implement problems encountered at every stage of agricultural production, the ability to plan research projects, and the ability to transfer the produced knowledge and technology to the producer and related sectors.

Goal:

To produce graduates who are experts in plant production, follow current developments in agriculture, have various equipment such as information technologies to establish communication and collaborations in the international arena, know all stages in the production process, understand the problems encountered and offer solutions, and have social aspects, creativity and entrepreneurship skills.
